About Margaret
Margaret keeps current with the latest western neuroscience research on mindfulness, as well as contemporary psychoanalytic practices. In addition she has studied and practiced Buddhist meditation for the last twenty years. Incorporating these interests, Margaret promotes curiosity and focused attention to help clients understand themselves in the face of troubled relationships, trauma and family crisis. Margaret is a certified trainer/facilitator of The Reflective Parenting Program, an attachment-based reflective approach to parenting, providing an opportunity for parents to engage in an experiential learning process specifically aimed to enhance reflection and improve the attachment between parent and child. (see resources.) In addition to her private practice, Margaret has been a therapist at Family Service of Santa Monica, a community based non-profit social service agency, since 2006. Over the years Margaret has worked in hospice care, rape crisis intervention, domestic violence prevention and teaching teens empowerment through Shakespeare in New York City, Connecticut and California.
